Bereavement

The Bereavement Team

At Meadowside CP School we care about the wellbeing of our children and their family.  We know that when a child experiences bereavement it is immense and means life will never be the same again. Grief impacts on concentration, learning and achievement. As a school community we know that we have an opportunity to support children and young people in their grief along with their family. Every pupil is an individual and their response to a bereavement will depend on a number of factors including their age and understanding. Children and young people show their grief in different ways, children learn about grief from the adults around them and they look to adults for support in their grief.

Meadowside's Bereavement Team, The Raindrop Team, are here to help and support.  We have trained staff that will be able to offer support and understanding to children and help them to be able to manage their grief.  Our Bereavement team will be able to signpost families to support outside of school as well as support them within our school community.
