Welcome to Cedar's Class Webpage

Welcome to our webpage. Hopefully, this will be a little portal so you can peep inside and see some of the exciting and amazing things we are doing in our class this year. We look forward to sharing with you our exciting learning adventures and letting you have a peek at our amazing work and the fun that we are having in class! Keep checking back to see more wonderful things as the year progresses and check out our blog posts at the bottom to see what we have been up to!

Useful Information

  • Homework will be given out every Friday and needs to be returned, at the latest, by the following Wednesday. If there are any problems with homework, speak to any of our Year 4 team who will be happy to help.

  • TryRugby will be taking place every Monday. Make sure your child has the correct P.E. kit (white t-shirt, black shorts/ jogging bottoms/ leggings and pumps or trainers). If possible, please leave P.E. kits in school for the half term, as we may do extra P.E. sessions in the week.

  • Year 4 will also be taking part in 4 Active Hope sessions during Spring Term 1. Please leave in school appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear as this will be taking place outdoors.

  • Your child needs their reading book and diary in school every day! Reading at home is one of the most important things you can do to support your child with their learning. We expect them to read at least three times a week at home and to have their reading diary signed weekly by a parent/carer. The school library is open every lunchtime for children to change books.

  • Children should be encouraged to use Mathletics and Reading Plus or Reading Eggs at home. Usernames and passwords will be in their Reading Diary. Help our class to win extra points by logging on at home!

  • Your child should know all of their times tables by the time they get to Year 5! Keep practising at home to make sure they don't forget.

Spring Term

Imagine if all intentions were good...

Hey Diddle Diddle,

The cat and the fiddle,

The cow jumped over the moon,

The little dog laughed, to see such a sport,

And the dish ran away with the spoon...

Autumn Term

Is change ever for the better?

The Romans

In Year 4, we use a cross-curricular approach to teaching. This term we are travelling back in time, to the Roman era, a time of great change and full of exciting developments and conquests. We will be looking at all aspects of Roman life and will also be going on an exciting trip to discover more.

Keep checking back to see some of the amazing work as we produce it!

We are always available at the end of the day, or are on the end of a phone if you need us! We look forward to seeing the amazing steps that all of the children will take as we continue through the year!
